Hi! Welcome to my site. I'm a new author hoping to self publish my first novel at Easter 2026. I'm still getting things setup here, but please subscribe to recieve updates, previews and (hopefully very soon) a cover reveal for my debuet work 'Lost Talent.'

What is Lost Talent?

Lost Talent, is a Contemporary Fantasy with a diverse cast, set in a magical society in the UK that hides itself from the rest of the world, making every-one who sees magic forget it's existance. It's Young Adult Novel with LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiverse characters.

At Oakward Academy, Mina was told she was 'a mage of no particular talent.' After graduating, she is stuck working in Burgamont & Mandragora's Arcane Emporium and wondering what happened to her childhood dreams.

Everything changes when one of her school friends suddenly disappears, accused of smuggling magic to the 'untalented.' Mina and her friends have to scour Britain's hidden arcane society in a desperate attempt to find him and clear his name before they lose him forever.

To succeed, Mina will need more than just magic… she will need to overcome the repressive lessons of magic school and the shadow that it continues cast on her life.

Who the hell are you anyway?

Oh, yeah, I should probably introduce myself. I am a fourtysomething single parent living in the northwest of england. My pronouns are he/him, and I am on the Asexual Spectrum. I think that I am probably either Demisexual or Grey Asexual, but it's been quite a long time since I've had those sorts of feelings for any-one so there is a lack of observable data at this time.

Both of my kids are Neurodivergent, and I think I probably am as well. I've been through an adult autism diagnostisis in the past, and I was told I had 'Autistic Traits' but not enough to qualify for ASC. To this day I have no idea what that really means, but I've no desire to go through that process again...

Lost Talent will be my first Novel. I've written guest blogs for the British Fantasy Society Blog

In my day job, I'm a University Administrator, a job that I've managed to hold down for most of my adult working life at this point.
